Road Closures on Apperley Lane
Published: 02 July 2020
Yorkshire Water will shortly be carrying out a scheme to install a new sewer system on Apperley Lane, Rawdon to replace the old sewer that collapsed at the end of 2015.
Beginning on the 24th July the road will be closed, one way, to traffic travelling northbound into Leeds from Bradford –at its junction with Micklefield Lane - with traffic diverted up and along Micklefield Lane to the A65 and back on to Apperley Lane via the JCT600 roundabout. Access to properties will be maintained via the signed diversion. Traffic travelling southbound i.e. from the JCT600 roundabout/A65 into Bradford will be unaffected.
The proposed completion date for this work is the 30th Sept, however it is expected that the element of work requiring the one way road closure will be completed by the 12th September – ground conditions and weather permitting.
The works have been planned to coincide with the summer holiday period so as much of the work as possible can be carried out when traffic is generally lighter – however - this is a very busy section of the road network and delays should be expected, especially during the peak hours.
Teams will be working 7 days a week until the works are completed.
Yorkshire Water have informed affected residents of the works and what to expect. Advanced warning signs will be placed on site to inform motorists.
Yorkshire Water’s customer service team have issued a press release to alert the wider public.
Leeds and Bradford Airport has also been informed.
